Questions and answers
How do I remove a password from a PDF?
Open the PDF with Unlock in PDFZyro, type the password and save. The unlocked copy is saved as a new version you can download.
Can PDFZyro unlock a PDF without the password?
No. Unlock only works with the correct password, and lifting printing or copying limits also needs the permissions password. If you've lost it, ask the person who sent the document.
Is the unlocked file safe in PDFZyro?
Yes. Every file in your library is encrypted when stored and only you, and people you share with, can open it.
Can I add a different password?
Yes. Use Password protect PDF on the unlocked copy to set a new password and limits.
Why does my PDF only ask for a password when I try to edit or print it?
Some PDFs have two passwords: one to open the file, and a permissions password that limits printing, copying or changes. To lift those limits, enter the permissions password; if you don't have it, ask the document's author.
Is Unlock PDF free?
Yes. Unlock PDF isn't counted towards the Free plan's daily tasks, so you can use it as much as you like with files up to 50 MB. Pro adds unlimited edit, convert, compress and OCR tasks and more storage, and is free to try for 7 days.
